It seems internet marketing is the easiest business model available. Everyone has seen the ads for “making money in your spare time” plastered all over the net. But the real truth is that IM is just like any other business model, and you’ll need to work and spend time on it if you ever want to see any money. One of the very first items on your agenda is to organize your business. If you take the time to introduce organization in your daily business, then you’ll be able to focus more and be more efficient – that all equals more money in your pocket. Next we’ll review some tips to organizing your business that will help you earn more.

You’ll want to figure out a place in your home that will only be used as your work space. If you can have an entire room for that, then that’s great! But it’s not really necessary. There are good reasons for the special place for this. This is a great time-saver for you. Failing to have your own space will result in lost time because eventually you’ll spend time looking for something business related that should be in your space. Also, it’s possible to be able to claim your home office area as a tax deduction. For those in the United States, you can claim a percentage of your taxes if your home office is of a certain area.

You can help yourself by being organized with your various lists. If you market several products and build lists, then of course you’ll have different email lists to manage. That’s why it’s important to maintain good organization with your lists. Most e-mail software comes with easily manipulated databases and list functions that will allow you to keep track of your contacts and e-mail addresses. You can do this with a program called Mozilla Thunderbird, for example, and it will allow you to run multiple marketing lists and maintain different personal email addresses.

Try to put together a workable schedule for your day and week.

You’ll have more success with completing your work if you simply plan in large periods of time. You can keep it simple by having a plan like: morning/projects and afternoon/marketing. You really will be able to get more done while ignoring things that tend to distract you. If you don’t have any idea at all of what you want to get done, you’ll be more likely to not get anything done. Your fledgling IM business is STILL a business! You need to get organized and create an easily accessible work environment for yourself. You’ll amaze yourself and be amazed how much of an effect this will have on your business and success. Remember, the goal is to make life easier for yourself, not harder!
